Originally from the Chicagoland area, Gordon came to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music. Gordon has been interested in music from an early age, and began playing guitar at the age of 11. His studies at Berklee focused on song writing and guitar performance. After graduating Berklee, he has spent time recording and performing with other local musicians as a member of the Boston music scene.
Gordon has been teaching guitar professionally since 2001, first at The Music Emporium in Lexington, then as a cofounder of the Minute Man Music Center, also in Lexington. He left the Minute Man Music Center to open his own private guitar studio located in Worburn, where he taught for five years. He now offers lessons in his newly designed, state of the art, teaching studio in Lexington.
As a guitar teacher, Gordon has designed innovative teaching techniques, from which he customizes lessons, to suit the needs of his students. He makes use of technology to enhance and broaden the learning experience for his students.
Gordon believes that the best way to support his students is not merely through common teaching techniques but also through creativity, discipline, and mentorship.
